State the facts
In your own words, describe what happened, when and where it happened, and who was involved.
Flock-A-Cop is currently in the build stage. We hope to provide Americans with an avenue to bring police misconduct to light and intend to launch in the coming weeks.
The United States of America was founded on principles of morality, honor, liberty, and law. John Adams wrote that ours should be “an empire of laws, and not of men.” Because of our country’s commitment to the rule of law, policing is one of the most immediate and consequential forms of government authority.
The Declaration of Independence states that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the governed.” The authority entrusted to police officers is loaned to them by the public; it is not owned by them. That authority must be exercised with integrity, restraint, courage, honor, and respect for the rights of every American.
We praise and support the faithful officers who work hard each day to exercise this authority with respect and care, at times putting themselves in harm’s way to diligently serve, protect, and strengthen their communities.
When officers commit crimes, abuse their authority, violate constitutional rights, or conceal misconduct, they betray their oaths and undermine public trust. They also discredit the hard work and sacrifice of the honorable officers who faithfully serve their communities.
Flock-A-Cop exists to expose and help remove criminal and abusive conduct from American policing. We document, report, and bring public attention to credible evidence of dishonesty, corruption, abuse of power, constitutional violations, and other misconduct by officers or agencies. We support accountability, transparency, due process, and the good officers who uphold the law with honor.
Theodore Roosevelt declared, “No man is above the law, and no man is below it.” We wholeheartedly agree. That principle applies to everyone—including, and especially, those entrusted with enforcing the law.
